About GSMS
The people behind GSMS – Land and Building Surveyors
Geomatic Survey & Measurement SERVICES
We are GSMS, land and building surveyors. We measure, collect and monitor data that reveals valuable and comprehensive information to our clients. The data we collect empowers property professionals to make informed decisions about existing and planned projects.
Our aim is to be a major and enduring point of reference. We want our clients – architects and engineers – to continue to have access to accurate information.
We are a priority service – essential and initial. We forewarn and forearm our clients against calamity. Our data also highlights opportunities. Ultimately, we empower our clients with accurate and relevant knowledge about their land and buildings. Little wonder that we find the work both fascinating and rewarding.
I’m Nick Moore
I started, GSMS land and building surveyors, with a clear idea of the kind of accurate and relevant surveying service I wanted to offer my clients. My time spent as an engineer and land surveyor in the UK and southern Africa, has given me hands-on experience of a range of commercial and residential projects.
As an engineer with Aqua Jets and self-employed surveyor in Zimbabwe, I worked across a variety of projects – farms and rural areas, roads, pipe lines and housing developments. The work itself included topographical surveys and setting out but also design, sales and installation of a range of domestic and industrial products and systems.
In the UK, my roles as a senior surveyor with both Plowman Craven and Mouchel, broadened my experience into large-scale projects. For example, co-ordinating field teams to produce detailed 3D models of Birmingham New Street Station and the Palisades Shopping Centre. Also carrying out large, complex measured building, topographical and engineering surveys.
Outside of my work, I have a great love of rural and agricultural life, in particular horses. Indeed, before my interest in surveying, I was planning to be a vet.
It matters to us that clients are enabled through our approach to their projects:
- Accuracy – driven by our client’s brief and the instruments we use
- Reassurance – we are a priority service, essential and initial
- Professionalism – a service that is relevant, comprehensive and agile
- Understanding – the needs of our clients lead to a brief that’s fit for purpose

- Innovative – unravelling and providing solutions to complex scenarios
- Empowerment – uncovering information that becomes powerful knowledge
